BSS Hyderabad district committee organized a discussion at Priyanka Degree College on Demonetisation. Around 120 students actively participated in the debate on this bizarre move of the government. Ch. Prameela, Advisor to BSS was the main speaker. She explained that Demonetization is not a scientific process to curb corruption, rather it will create severe problems for the common people. L. Discussion on Evolution of Science
A discussion on “THE EVOLUTION OF SCIENCE” was conducted at Christopher Convent School, Hyderabad on 28 Dec 2016. Nearly 200 students participated in the program. Mr. S. Janibasha, Advisor to BSS, was the main speaker. He explained how science has evolved and answered the questions raised by students. Madam Marie Curie Science club affiliated to Breakthrough Science Society organized a discussion on “Demonetization - Whether it can remove corruption in India?”at Vanita Degree College for Women. The programme was presided over by Mouni, Convener of Madam Marie Curie Science club. Students placed their opinions about demonetization and felt that it is not scientific and it cannot solve the problem of corruption in the present system. 7 November 2016: BSS Hyderabad district chapter organized a program to commemorate the 149th birth anniversary of Madam Curie at Erramanzil Govt. School and Vanitha Degree college on 7th Nov 2016. L. Kurnool Science Conference
19 August 2016: BSS Kurnool city committee conducted a successful science conference on “Science and Society” on 19-08-2016 at BRINDAVAN Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Kurnool. It was a day long programme consisting of two sessions. The conference was inaugurated by DrT S S Balaji, Principal, BITS. He spoke about the various superstitions prevalent in the society and the need to fight them. 7 September 2016: The Second Hyderabad Science Conference organized by Breakthrough Science Society was successfully held at Stanley College of Engineering and Technology for Women, Hyderabad on September 7, 2016. Program on Madam Curie
21 July, 2016: BSS Hyderabad chapter organised a program on Madam Curie in Greenfields high school on 21st July, 2016. A presentation on Madam Curie’s life was shown by Shailaja to the students of 8th and 9th standard. D Gangaji explained the importance of learning from great people’s life struggles and the lessons to learn from Madam Curie's life. 14 March, 2016: On the birth anniversary of the great scientist and humanist Albert Einstein, BSS Hyderabad Chapter organised a seminar at Saifabad PG College of Science, Osmania University. Dr.Jani Bhasha, GITAM University was the chief guest. College Principal, faculty members and students attended the seminar. Dr Jani Bhasha spoke on Einstein’s life and on the recent discovery of gravitational waves. At the end of the program, ‘Einstein Science Club’, a science club affiliated to BSS, was formed. Observance of ‘National Science Day’ and ‘Cultivation of Scientific Temper week’
Breakthrough science society Hyderabad chapter along with Yuva Sahithi Sravanthi organised miracle exposure show, drama and discussion on science at Lamakhan, a public meeting place in the city on 21-02-2016. Mr. Sarath did Miracle exposure show where scientific experiments were shown to the public and the reason behind each experiment was explained. 10 November, 2015: Educational Convention
Breakthrough Science Society, All India Save Education Committee, All India Secular Forum and Child Rights Protection Forum jointly organised an Educational Convention on “NEW EDUCATION POLICY-2015 & REWRITTING OF SCIENCE AND HISTORY” at Hyderabad on Nov 10, 2015. 7 November, 2015: Madam Curie Birth Anniversary Program
On the occasion of Madam Marie Curie’s birth anniversary, BSS Hyderabad Unit organised a discussion on Madam Curie’s life history at Nishulkprabhath High School, Hyderabad. Mr.Sarath and Mr.Jhani organised the meeting. Mr Jhani addressed the students on the topic “Madam Curie’s life history and the morals to be taken from her life struggle”. It was a very inspirational program for the students. Later Mr.Sarath conducted Miracle Exposure show. Interesting science experiments were shown and explained to the students. Iswara Chandra Vidyasagar’s 196th Birth anniversary was observed on 26-09-15 at Hyderabad (Telangana). An essay writing competition was conducted in Government Polytechnic College, Hyderabad and a Memorial meeting was conducted in the college hostel. Sri P Teja, Member, Save Education Committee, Hyderabad was the chief guest of the meeting and Mr. R Gangadhar, Convener, BSS was the main speaker. Sri Teja described the life struggle of Vidyasagar and his commitment towards society. The Kurnool District Chapter of BSS organized a miracle busting program on 15-09-15 in Kalvabugga Boys Residential High School. Mr. Harish organized the program and he also performed the miracle experiments. He spoke about scientific way of thinking and the necessity to cultivate scientific methodology in our daily life. 27 April, 2015: News Report from Andhra and Telengana
A science camp was organized by BSS,Hindupur Chapter on 26.04.15. Sri Rajasekara Reddy, teacher and BSS town advisor inaugurated the camp. Mr R.Gangadhar, BSS State incharge was the main speaker. BSS town convenor Mr K.Mallikdath presided over the program.
In his inaugural address Sri Rajasekhara Reddy explained the evolution of science. He also answered questions raised by the participants. Mr Gangadhar conducted a discussion on the historical development of Science and technology. In the afternoon session, students performed low cost simple experiments under the guidance of Mallikdath. The camp ended with a friendly cricket match. Stuidents enjoyed the camp and inquired when such programs will be arranged next.

25 March, 2015: Breakthrough Science Society in association with Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, JNTU College of Engineering (Anantapur) organised a seminar on "History and Development of Aviation Technology". Prof. H.S.Mukunda, an eminent scientist in the field of Aerospace engineering (IISc Bangalore) was the main speaker.
Prof K Prahlada Rao, the principal of the college presided over the function. Prof Durga Prasad, Head, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering and Mr Gangadhar, B.S.S State Convener also spoke. Prof H S.Mukunda deliberated on the science behind flying and the unscientific claims made by the author of Vymaniksastra in a flight of imagination. Mr. Gangadhar said that history and epics are not to be confused, as one is based on facts and the other is purely a product of imagination.
Students of the college Mr.Tabrez Khan, Saif, Harichandana and Teja took initiative in organizing the program. A good number of students participated and 40 of them joined as members of BSS.

22nd January, 2015: A science convention was organised in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh state on 'Ancient Indian Science - A critical study' at Brindavan Institute of Technology and Science. Mr.G.Satish kumar, Convenor, BSS and Mr.R.Gangadhar, Convenor, AP&TS attended as main speakers. 300 students participated. A Science committee also was formed with Mr.V.Viswanath Reddy as convenor and Mr.P.Venkateswarlu as co-convenor.

Hudhud Cyclone Relief Work, Andhra Pradesh
Breakthrough Science Society held a PRESS MEET on 8th January, 2015 at Somajiguda Press Club, Hyderabad against the recent papers submitted in the Indian Science Congress, held in Mumbai. Eminent Scientists and Education personalities like Sri. P.M. Bhargava, Sri. Viswesara Rao, Sri Vakulabharanam Ramakrishna spoke on the occasion.

A very severe cyclonic storm Hudhud hit Vishakapatnam in Andhra Pradesh on 12th October 2014. Lakhs of people had to take shelter in relief camps.The State Chapter of Breakthrough Science Society collected cyclone relief fund from teachers, students and general public.

Program on National Science Day
Breakthrough Science Society, Hyderabad chapter organized a convention on the occasion of National Science Day on 28-02-2015 at Stanley College of Engineering & Technology for Women, Hyderabad, Telangana. The theme of the convention was “Ancient Indian Science - A Dispassionate Study”. Prof S M.Ahmed, Professor in Hyderabad Central University and Scientist from ISRO was the chief-guest. Dr. P.L.Visweswar Rao, popular historian was the main speaker. Dr. Anuradha, Principal Stanley College, Mr.Jani Basha of Gitam University and Mrs.Varjiliya, HOD Stanley College spoke at the convention. Students from different engineering and polytechnic colleges in Hyderabad attended the convention. Mr.R.Gangadhar, BSS State convener presided.

Dr.P.L.Vishweswar Rao spoke about the concerted attempts in recent times to mix up science and mythology as was done in the 102nd Indian Science Congress. He said that we must be proud of the ancient inventions and discoveries in India but at the same time we should not claim that everything was there in India and in its Vedas.

Prof.S.M.Ahmed gave a lucid lecture on “Race to Red Planet”, the story of India’s Mars Orbiter Mission and NASA’s MAVEN. It was a very interesting and informative talk. He advised people not to blindly follow the myths that aliens live on mars. A book titled "Science Vs Pseudo Science" was released at the convention.
